My art practice explores the intrinsic physiological and neurological properties of human visual perception.
By considering the inherent factors that influence, limit and ultimately determine our overall perceived visual experience I can draw attention to the often overlooked or disregarded elements of the process.
Currently I am interrogating all things blue. Examining three questions that are central to my ideas – ‘What is blue?’ ‘How is blue?’ and ‘Why is blue?’.
These investigations have led me to develop a series of artworks that focus on surface structure, the properties of light as well as using natural pigments to create artwork – in print, painting and sculpture.
