Jared Vaughan Davis is a graduate of the Pratt Institute (2002), with a BA in Communications Design: Art Direction, and has worked professionally as an artist, designer, and educator for more than 12 years. Utilizing a dialectical approach in both his studio practice and research, and working with a variety of mediums and methodologies, his aim is to move beyond the contemporary paradigm of postmodernism towards an artistic discourse that oscillates between a “modern enthusiasm and postmodern irony,” as well as between unity and multiplicity, totality and fragmentation, clarity and ambiguity, and reason and romanticism. His work often deals with topics ranging from epistemology, mythology, ancient and modern cosmology, and the science of ‘belief,’ to general science communication and promotion.
