My practice originates from my background in clinical neuroscience, developed through insights from social psychology. It concerns the frameworks through which we perceive one another in the face of aging, illness and disability. By presenting metaphor and personal narrative, viewers are given space to consider the presuppositions through which we view the world and its inhabitants.
My current work uses symbolic imagery to invite the audience to consider their feelings towards the process of aging in people versus non-human beings. Whilst my previous works have concerned topics such as anorexia nervosa and the psychological impacts of ubiquitous internet connectivity.
